Authentic forms. Modern technology. A space in new splendour
For the Heiligkreuz church in St. Gallen we were able to carry out the complete refurbishment of the interior lighting. The aim was to preserve the historic atmosphere of the church interior while creating a contemporary, energy-efficient lighting solution.
A central element of the project was the development of new pendant luminaires designed by LLAL Licht. They combine a clear, restrained formal language with state-of-the-art lighting technology. The integrated, glare-controlled downlights provide harmonious illumination, increase visual comfort and support the liturgical requirements of the space.
Particular attention was also paid to the glass luminaires recessed into the sides of the ceiling. Based on historical documents, the original glass forms were faithfully reconstructed and newly manufactured. Inside, LED modules ensure an even, warm distribution of light. The result is a lighting image that respectfully continues the church’s tradition while making use of the benefits of current technology.
The outcome is a coherent, timeless lighting concept that elegantly unites architecture, history and function.
